June 8th – a day we love to honor and celebrate, and of course, we love to help raise awareness about the protection and preservation of our blue ocean.

Below you'll find what we are also celebrating – the launching of partnering projects for the benefit of our scientific work and helping to raise knowledge and awareness about better ways to care for our ocean.

1) We’re extra proud to announce that we are getting ready to launch our Mothership and expedition yacht Hrimfare into the water. Hrimfare is now being finalized – after a seven-year-long and extensive upcycling transformation from an iconic sail racer into a global sailing ocean lab vessel.

2) We celebrate that the start of this season will be via a monitoring expedition for the DiverSea-project, an EU-funded oceanic biodiversity assignment, managed by the University of Trondheim, Norway, together with renowned European universities and stakeholders. We will sail onboard Hrimfare along the coastal waters of Sweden and Norway – first a "test leg" from Smögen up to Oslo (July 14-19). Then we will manifest the DiverSea-project with a "Sail-Off Ceremony" in Oslo on July 21st and from there start the expedition around the coast up to Trondheim. See expedition maps and further details on the Hrimfare Expedition Page.

3) We celebrate the fact that the plans for the Nexus-MonArc project is being settled. Hrimfare will sail off from Trondheim and continue for more assignments/expeditions along the coasts of Europe, via the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea, and then for the scientific assignment – The Nexus-MonArc project in the Hellenic Volcanic Arc in Greece. See expedition maps and further details on the Hrimfare Expedition Page.

4) Possibly celebrating too early, but yes, we are hopefully waiting for a pending second application for our NAPA BluePaper project 2025-2026. Hoping for continuous support to complete the initiated BluePaper and a potential scientific sailing expedition into the Arctic region with Hrimfare or any other vessel.
